ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State softball team is on the road for a pair of GLIAC doubleheaders this weekend. The Lakers will face Ferris State on Saturday, April 11
th at 1:00 PM and Davenport on Sunday, April 12
th at 1:00 PM.
GVSU is 18-16 overall and second place in the GLIAC standings with an 8-4 mark. The Lakers split a doubleheader at Roosevelt on Tuesday, losing game one 7-6 in eight innings before dominating game two 13-0 in five innings.
Kylee Hoebeke drove in a career high eight RBI with a home run and triple in the game two win against Roosevelt. GVSU is second in the conference hitting .322 on the season and second with a 2.84 team ERA.
Camryn Hall is third in the conference hitting .429 with 48 hits, 26 runs scored, and 14 RBI.
Grace Usher is 10
th in the GLIAC with a .377 batting average with 43 hits, 25 RBI, and a team leading three home runs.
Elizabeth Wesoloski has notched a .366 average with 37 hits and 21 RBI.
Karli Dorr is third in the GLIAC with a 2.34 ERA and has posted a 7-3 record with eight complete games.
Ferris State is 21-16 on the season and 7-5 in the GLIAC. The Bulldogs are hitting .293 as a team and have posted a 3.96 team ERA. Ava Gardner leads the Ferris State offense hitting .374 on the season with 43 hits, 24 RBI, and six home runs. Alexis Kozlowski is hitting .353 with a team leading 10 doubles and 34 runs batted in. Emma Herremans has notched a .333 average with 20 RBI and 12 runs scored. Cecelia Bell has posted a 3.28 ERA in the circle with an 8-8 record. Addison Gillard has a 3.67 ERA with a 4-3 record.
Davenport enters the weekend with a 9-25 overall record and 5-7 GLIAC record. The Panthers are hitting .242 as a team led by Chloe Bruman who has notched a .324 batting average with 24 hits and 18 runs scored. Kailyne Luna leads Davenport in extra base hits with seven doubles, three triples, and two home runs. Alaina Schwanke has added a .303 average with a team leading 33 hits, 18 RBI, and seven doubles.
