The Lakers began conference play last weekend, hosting Northern Michigan and Concordia-St. Paul. GVSU claimed victories in both, extending their winning streak to three games and are the lone team in the league to be undefeated. The Lakers beat the Wildcats 9-4 and the Golden Bears 7-4. GVSU had strong defensive efforts in both games, led by Sarah Krause saving 15 shots. They caused 27 turnovers and won the draw control battle 17-11.

Ella Boose and Quinn McElroy swept the GLIAC Player of the Week awards, with Boose getting the offensive nod and McElroy got the defensive honor. Boose notched 10 points across two Laker conference wins, adding eight draw controls, and four groundballs. McElroy was a key force on the Laker defensive line that held both Northern Michigan and Concordia-St. Paul to four goals apiece. She totaled five groundballs and five caused turnovers over the two GVSU victories.

Davenport entered a new era this spring, going into their first season under head coach Frank Rogers. They are off to a 7-4 start overall and 2-1 in the conference. They have scored 151 goals this year, allowing 108. Five Panthers have scored over 30 points this season, with three having over 20 goals. Isabelle Bonillo has played all 660 minutes at goalie this season, recording 87 saves and a .446 save percentage. Two defenders in front of her have tallied over 20 caused turnovers and three have over 30 groundballs.

In their second season as a program, Saginaw Valley State picked up their first ever win earlier this season, defeating Northwood. They are 1-9 this season and 0-3 in GLIAC play, currently on a six-game losing streak. The Cardinals average 4.5 goals per game, five time scoring four or less in a game. Briar-Rose Mackey has a team-high 12 goals, with two other Cardinals posting double-digit points. In net, sophomore goalkeeper Mikaila Stone has seen most of the time, saving 138 shots for a 46.6% save percentage.
