Shamus Thompson has been named the GLIAC defensive player of the week for the first time this season announced today (Jan. 12) by the league office.
Thompson posted his first career double-double in the 76-54 win against Purdue Northwest with 11 points and a career high 15 rebounds with five offensive rebounds. The Grand Blanc native also blocked three shots and swiped one steal in the win over the Pride. In the 81-72 win against Wayne State, Thompson grabbed a game high seven rebounds with four offensive rebounds, while blocking one shot and swiping one steal.
GVSU will be back home on Thursday, January 15
th when they host Davenport in the crosstown showdown. Tipoff is set for 7:30 PM at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The game will be streamed live on FloCollage and WXSP.
