ALLENDALE, MICH. - For the first time in his career, Grand Valley State senior golfer Bryce Wheeler has been named GLIAC Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
 
Wheeler helped lead the Lakers to a victory at the UIndy Invitational, setting or tying two program records in the process. He took the individual win, the second of his career, by carding rounds of 68, 64, and 69 to total a 201 (-15), winning by four strokes. His 36-hole score of 132 tied a program record, and his 54-hole score of 201 set a new mark by one stroke. Over the three rounds, Wheeler sank 18 birdies and one eagle.
 
Additionally, the Lakers finished the event at -51, also achieving new program records for team 18-hole (269), 36-hole (539), and 54-hole (813) team records. The win was the second of the fall for GVSU through only three tournaments.
