ALLENDALE, MICH. – Four members of the GVSU women's lacrosse team earned IWLCA Midwest All-Region selections, as announced by the organization earlier today.
Kylie Waeghe,
Ashleigh Rothe, and
Zoe Ziegler were named to the first team, while
Elora Ferrie earned second team honors.
Waeghe was a key piece of one of the best defenses in the country, starting all 20 games on the backline. She ranked second on the team with 38 groundballs and was fourth in caused turnovers at 19. The First-Team All-GLIAC selection also added 32 draw controls. This is the second time Waeghe has earned All-Region honors, earning second team honors in the 2023 season.
Rothe finished off her time in Allendale, with the best season of her career. She led the Lakers in goals (54), assists (32), points (86), and groundballs (39), all career-highs. Selected as an All-Region performer for the third consecutive season, Rothe posted 10 hat tricks this season, and eight games with five or more points, earning a spot on the conference's first-team.
For the first time in her career, Ziegler earned IWLCA All-Region honors, getting a spot on the first team. She set career-highs in goals (42), assists (22), points (64), and groundballs (17). Selected to the GLIAC First-Team, Ziegler recorded nine hat tricks and five games with five or more points.

Elora Ferrie was a member of the second team. Another mainstay on the Laker defense, Ferrie was twice named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. She tallied 21 groundballs and caused 20 turnovers in her 17 games of action.
