INDIANAPOLIS, IND.- The Grand Valley State Lakers had an impressive day for Day 3 of the National Championship. The Lakers brought home some hardware in individual events and in the relay. The women are currently sitting at fifth place with a score of 119 and the men are sitting at fifth with a score of 144.
Men's The men had a good day on the swimming and on the diving side,
Esteban Nunez Del Prado grabbed a 12th finish in the 100 fly with a time of 47.11. He grabbed an All-American spot.
Matt Bosch is a third place finisher in the 200 free with a time of 1:33.71. Bosch was also named an All-American.
Matthew Blommel scored a 521.60 to take 9th and he was named anAll-American.
Esteban Nunez Del Prado, Aaron Dies, Andrew Goh, and Matt Bosch are members of the 400 Medley Relay that received a third place finish. The last leg touched the wall at 3:08.52. They all received an All-American honor.
On the women's side of the pool, Katie O'Connell finished with a time of 4:16.36 in the 400 IM to take home the hardware in third place. O'Connell broke her own school record in this event. Sara Alvarez touched the wall for the Lakers at 4:24.28 and took 14th and became an All-American.
Lucy Hedley finished in top spot in prelims for the 200 free. She touched the wall at 1:47.12 in the finals to take fourth place. She was named an All-American.
The members of the 400 Medley Relay include Vittoria Proietti, Sara Alvarez, Alysa Wager, and Lucy Hedley. They grabbed 9th place with a time of 3:43.50.
