ALLENDALE, Mich. — The GVSU Swim and Dive team claimed both the men's and women's GLIAC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week honors, as announced today by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: LUCY HEDLEY, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Lucy Hedley has been named the GLIAC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season. She previously earned the honor in Week 2 for her outstanding performance. This week, Hedley was recognized for her performance against the University of Indianapolis. She placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.38, the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.58, and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.10. Hedley was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that touched the wall at 3:29.03 to secure first place for the Lakers.
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: EVAN SCOTTO DIVETTA, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Evan Scotto DiVetta has also been named the GLIAC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season. He previously earned the honor during the same week that Hedley received hers earlier this year. Scotto DiVetta was a member of the 200-yard medley relay that touched the wall at 1:31.12 to place second for the Lakers. He placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.45 and in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.99. In the final race of the meet last Saturday, Scotto DiVetta closed out the 400-yard freestyle relay that came from behind to win with a time of 3:01.57.
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: EMI GOTO, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Emi Goto was named GLIAC Diver of the Week for the second time in her career after placing first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 262.80 and second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 250.28.
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: CARTER WOOD, GRAND VALLEY STAT
Carter Wood earned GLIAC Diver of the Week honors for the second time in his career.. Wood took first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 313.43 and finished second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 296.03.
