ALLENDALE, Mich.- The Grand Valley State swim and dive team is coming off another weekend of wins across the board on both the men's and women's sides, defeating Calvin University and Saginaw Valley State.
This weekend, the Lakers will host Northern Michigan in a head-to-head meet at 1 p.m. at the GVSU Pool. The Lakers defeated the Wildcats last year, with the men earning a 202–94 victory and the women winning 172.5–127.5.
The men enter their first home meet with a 4–0 record after a strong weekend that saw several Lakers finish first in their respective events. Multiple NCAA qualifying cuts were achieved in both swimming and diving.
The women also head into the weekend with a 4–0 record following a series of top finishes and NCAA cuts across events.
"The divers are excited to show the hard work they have been doing over the last month, and I'm excited to see where we are at with our training when it comes to meet days," said diving coach Steve Burciaga. "This will be a good test for our divers, with NMU having some really good divers," added Burciaga.
The event will be live streamed. Click here to watch. For updates, follow the team on Instagram @gvsuswimdive and X (formerly Twitter) @gvsuswim, and download Meet Mobile for additional updates.
