ALLENDALE, MICH. - Following his first career victory, Grand Valley State men's golfer
Charlie Cooley has been selected as the GLIAC Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the GLIAC office earlier today.
Â
This is the first time in his career that Cooley has earned the honor from the conference. The senior won the Nemacolin Intercollegiate, helping the Lakers earn the team trophy as well. Cooley shot a 208, carding rounds of 73, 68, and 67 to finish at eight under par. He made 14 birdies over the three rounds to climb up the leaderboard on the final day and get the win. The second-ranked golfer in the country has three top 10 finishes this fall and has played a big part in the Lakers being the top team in the country.
