Briceno, Goto, & McAlpine named GLIAC Swimmer and Diver Of The Week

ALLENDALE, Mich. — Two swimmers and one diver have earned this week's GLIAC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week honors, as announced earlier today by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: ELLIOTT MCALPINE, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Elliott McAlpine was named Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career at GVSU. McAlpine was part of the 200 medley relay team that placed fourth at the tri-meet against Calvin and Saginaw Valley this past weekend, finishing with a time of 1:47.02. She also touched the wall at 1:04.05 to take third in the 100 breaststroke. McAlpine captured first place in the 200 breaststroke for the Lakers with a time of 2:16.49 and placed third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.35.

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: RAUL BRICENO, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Raul Briceno was named Swimmer of the Week for the first time this season. He placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.45. Briceno touched the wall at 4:29.09 in the 500 freestyle to take first place for the Lakers. He was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay that placed fourth with a time of 3:08.86.

WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: EMI GOTO, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Emi Goto was named Diver of the Week for the first time in her career at Grand Valley State. She placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 250.95 and took second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 244.75.
