ALLENDALE, Mich. — Four Lakers have earned this season's first sweep of GLIAC Swim and Dive Athlete of the Week honors, as announced earlier today by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: LUCY HEDLEY, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Lucy Hedley was named GLIAC Swimmer of the Week for the first time this season. She was part of the 200-freestyle relay that broke a school record to start off the meet with a time of 1:32.91. Hedley also competed in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyles, posting times of 23.06, 50.32, and 1:50.42. In addition, she was a member of the 200-medley relay (1:43.39), 400 medley relay (3:47.76), and 400 freestyle relay (3:25.44) — all of which placed first.
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: EVAN SCOTTO DIVETTA, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Evan Scotto DiVetta was named GLIAC Swimmer of the Week for the first time this season after competing in seven events over the two-day GVSU Invite. He contributed to first-place finishes in the 200-medley relay (1:27.51), 400 medley relay (3:15.02), 200 freestyle relay (1:19.82), and 400 freestyle relay (2:56.66). Scotto DiVetta also earned victories in the 50 freestyle (19.75), 100 breaststroke (56.73), and 100 freestyle (43.39).
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: OLIVIA KUTSCHE, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Olivia Kutsche earned first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, posting scores of 240.23 and 272.00. This marks her first GLIAC Diver of the Week honor this season.
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: CARTER WOOD, GRAND VALLEY STATE
Carter Wood scored 224.65 in the 1-meter dive to take first place for the Lakers. He also claimed the top spot in the 3-meter dive with a score of 291.38. This is Wood's first GLIAC Diver of the Week of this season.
