Ryan Dykstra was named the GLIAC Player of the Week it was announced by the league office. Dykstra turned in an outstanding week as the Lakers swept a weekend series with Davenport. He hit .565 (13-23) with a 1.557 OPS, including four extra-base hits and a game-winning RBI in the bottom of the 10th to propel GVSU to a 5-4 win in game three of the series. He had three or more hits in three games, including his second 5-hit game of the season. In addition, he drove in 13 runs, scored nine runs and walked twice.
The sweep over Davenport moved GVSU into the #2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament that will start Thursday with the Lakers playing Parkside at 11 a.m.
