ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Grand Valley State softball team is set begin postseason play at the GLIAC Tournament beginning Friday (May 3) in Rosemont, Illinois.

The Lakers earned the top seed in the tournament and a first-round bye where they will play the winner of Ferris State and Wayne State at 12:00 PM ET on Friday. GVSU is 33-14 entering the postseason play and clinched a share of the GLIAC regular season championship with a 16-8 mark.
Eight Lakers were named to the All-GLIAC teams announced yesterday (May 1) morning.
Hannah Hollister and
Morgan Spicer earned first team honors.
Kelsey Komorous,
Ashley Platek,
Liberti Fair, and
Jenna Ballard earned second team honors, while
Genesis Eggart and
Megan Koenigshof were named to the honorable mention.
Hannah Hollister leads the Lakers and ranks second in the GLIAC with a .396 batting average. Hollister broke the GVSU single season stolen base record with 40 during the regular season.
Morgan Spicer is hitting .362 this season and leads the team with four triples. Spicer led the team hitting .455 in conference play.
Kelsey Komorous leads the GLIAC with 53 runs batted in. Komorous is hitting .368 on the season with 53 hits and 14 doubles.
The Laker pitching staff led the GLIAC with a 1.86 ERA, including the top four pitchers with lowest ERA in the conference.
Ashley Platek leads the GLIAC with a 1.74 ERA and is fourth with 10 wins. Platek tossed seven complete games in conference play going 7-1 in the circle with a 0.80 ERA.
Nevaeh Ingram is second in the GLIAC with a 1.82 ERA and has posted a perfect 7-0 record in the circle.
Genesis Eggart and
Kylie Swierkos are tied for third with a 1.85 ERA. Eggart leads the Lakers with 13 complete games and 95 strikeouts in 98.1 innings pitched.
