On Sunday, the program will honor six seniors for all their hard work and dedication to the program. Hailey Crittenden, Aislynn Alkire, Hope Leinen, Maddy Champagne, Sydney Stone, and Elora Ferrie will all be honored prior to the game against Northern Michigan.

The Lakers moved to 11-1 last weekend by defeating Walsh 11-3 at home. Maddy Champagne had a big game, scoring five times, while Sydney Stone added a hat trick. The Laker defense was strong once again, led by goalie Kaylyn Cater, who made six saves in net. Ashleigh Rothe and Aislynn Alkire both caused four turnovers, and Alkire and Hope Leine each grabbed three groundballs. GVSU is undefeated in league play, entering at 2-0, as they have won 31 consecutive regular season GLIAC games.

Friday's game will be a rematch with the Golden Bears of Concordia-St. Paul. The Lakers defeated CSP 16-1 in their previous matchup at the beginning of the month. Crittenden scored five times, with Champagne, and Stone each adding a hat trick. CSP only managed to take four shots all game.

CSP is 6-8 this year and 1-2 in conference play. They have lost three of their past four contests, with the lone win coming over Davenport. Freshman goalkeeper Marge Lucio has been playing outstanding recently for the Golden Bears. She had 12 saves in the opening game against the Lakers, and then set a new program record with 22 last Sunday against Northern Michigan. That has brought her total to a GLIAC-leading 109 saves. Susie Monson leads the offense with 53 points on 34 points and 19 assists. Cayla Jungwirth and Anna Fisher have both recorded over 30 points. CSP has never beaten the Lakers, as they are 0-11.

To close out the weekend, the Lakers will square off with Northern Michigan. The top two teams in the GLIAC previously met up in Marquette, with GVSU taking a 17-6 win. Champagne tallied five goals and Crittenden had four in the win. Cater made six saves, and the Laker defense held the GLIAC's leading scorer in Minnie Bittell to just one point on five shot attempts.

The Wildcat offense has been rolling since that loss to the Lakers, scoring 18 goals and 21 goals in their past two games, both victories. Those two wins moved them to 11-3 overall and 2-1 in league play. They have had four different players record hat tricks in that span, led by Bittell scoring eight goals and adding seven assists to bring her to 84 points on the year. Josie Lakosky and Kaitlyn Bridger are third and fourth in the conference in points, coming in with 45 and 41. Lauren Espisito has been the main Wildcat in the cage, recording 86 saves and a .434 save percentage. The Wildcats are also looking for their first win over the Lakers, entering at 0-14.
