ALLENDALE, MICH. – In another nationally ranked game, the GVSU women's lacrosse team will take on 13
th ranked UIndy Thursday afternoon. The Lakers and Greyhounds will match up at 3:00 down in Indianapolis.

The Lakers, who moved up to 10
th in this week's IWLCA poll, have won three straight and enter the week 7-1. They took care of Notre Dame College Sunday afternoon, winning 19-4.
Maddy Champagne scored four goals, including the 150
th of her career, while
Ashleigh Rothe and
Ainsley Shilling both recorded hat tricks. Dominant on the draw control again, GVSU won 22 of the 26. This season they have won the draw controls 128-46. The Laker defense allowed just seven Falcon shots on Sunday and are allowing just 14.9 a game and have yet to give up more than nine goals in a game.
Last season, the Lakers and Greyhounds split their two matchups. UIndy won the regular season game 13-12, but GVSU came back and beat them in the Midwest Regional Championship 11-10 in overtime. In the regular season game,
Sydney Stone scored four times, while
Kate DeYoung added a hat trick. The Lakers won the draw control battle 21-7 and outshot UIndy 31-24.
Kaylyn Cater came into the net in relief and made eight saves in just over 30 minutes of action.
In the rematch out in Denver, the Lakers trailed 10-8 with just over three minutes remaining in the game. Stone then scored twice in the final 2:33 to tie the game and force overtime. In the extra period, the Laker defense forced a shot clock violation on the Greyhounds to get possession back. Champagne was fouled with 18 seconds left and promptly buried a free position attempt shot to send the Lakers to the Final Four. Stone scored four goals in that game to lead GVSU, while
Zoe Ziegler had two.
Sarah Krause tallied a career-high 12 saves en route to earning IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week.
After losing their season opener to Florida Southern, UIndy then rattled off five consecutive victories, before losing two of their past three, falling to Tampa and Regis. The Greyhounds have outscored their opponents 150-87, putting up 11 more shots per game. Four players have scored more than 20 goals this season, with Olivia Blandon (27), Megan Dunn (26), Mackenzie Winn (26), and Joey Fowler (23) all hitting the mark. Defensively, the Greyhounds have caused 66 turnovers and goalkeeper Ava Graham has made 53 saves.
