Colorado Mesa will be opening their season Friday against the Lakers. They come in ranked #23 in the IWLCA poll after an 11-6 record a season ago. They are under the direction of first year head coach Ashley Delaney as she was elevated from assistant coach to the head spot this summer. The Mavericks return All-American defender Kelsey Vigor, who caused 54 turnovers a season ago. Their second and third leading scorers are also back in Justine Anderson and Ali Bryant, who both tallied over 35 points. Starting goalkeeper Shannon Murphy will return for her senior campaign, as she totaled 117 saves and a .417 save percentage last year.

On Sunday, it will be another neutral site game, as GVSU takes on Missouri Western State in Quincy. The Griffons are off to a 4-0 start this year, defeating Concordia-St. Paul, McKendree, William Jewel, and Quincy. Junior midfielder Sam Pruitt is off to a terrific start this year, tallying 15 goals and nine assists over the first four contests. Brooke Tjernlund has netted 10 goals as well to rank second in points. Mackenzie Porter has picked up all four wins in the cage, saving 30 shots for a .484 save percentage.
