ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State women's soccer team has been selected as the #3 seed in the Midwest Region in the NCAA Tournament. The Lakers will play #6 seed Missouri-St. Louis in St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, November 22
nd.
The 2024 NCAA Tournament marks the 21
st consecutive season the Lakers have made the tournament. GVSU has a 63-12-8 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament with 16 regional championships and an NCAA Division II record seven national championships.
Ashland earned the top seed in the Midwest Region and earned a first-round bye. Ashland will host the first-round matchup between #4 Northern Michigan and #5 Drury and will play the winner of the two teams.
Maryville earned the second seed in the region and will host #7 McKendree in the first round. Maryville will also host the first-round matchup between GVSU and UMSL. The winners of both matchups will play on the campus of Maryville in the second round.
