ALLENDALE – Senior defender Kacy Lauer and freshman goalkeeper Macie Hunter were named to the D2CCA All-American teams. Lauer earned first team honors, while Hunter was named to the third team.
 
Senior defender Kacy Lauer has been named an All-American for the second consecutive season. She earned D2CCA Midwest All-Region first team honors and was named the GLIAC defensive player of the year. Lauer became the 13^th player in program history to earn the GLIAC defensive player of the year award. The senior appeared and started in all 22 games this season and has been a key contributor to GVSU having 13 shutouts on the season which leads the GLIAC. Lauer scored a career high six goals and dished out five assists for a career best 17 points this season from her primary outside defensive back position. She scored two game-winning goals in the home wins against Michigan Tech and Davenport. In conference play, Lauer tied for the team lead and led all GLIAC defenders with 16 points and six goals. She was one of three Lakers to have logged over 1800 minutes this season and appeared in all 90 minutes in 12 games.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Macie Hunter becomes the first freshman goalkeeper in program history to earn All-American honors. Hunter was named to the D2CCA Midwest All-Region first team. She became the fourth player in program history to earn GLIAC goalkeeper of the year honors. The freshman appeared in 19 games making 18 starts this season. Hunter led the GLIAC with 17 wins, 12 shutouts, and a 0.38 goals-against average. She posted a 17-1-1 record in goal with a GLIAC best seven goals against and was second with a .808 save percentage. In conference play, Hunter started in every game posting a 13-1 record with nine shutouts and a 0.37 goals-against average. Hunter made 25 saves in conference play with a 0.833 save percentage that ranked at the top in the GLIAC.
