Marquette, Mich. - GVSU Men's and Women's teams competed on the road in Marquette, Mich. against Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley State.
The Laker men pulled away 2 more wins against Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley with scores of 202-94 and 203-96.
On the men's side, the Lakers had some great finishes, three different athletes placed first in multiple events.
Junior Matt Bosch took first in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:39.30. Bosch touched the wall at 43.91 in the 100 yard free to take first to take home another pool record at PEIF. Thomas Zoldowski and Esteban Nunez Del Prado took first and second with times of 49.37 and 49.54 for the Lakers. Zoldowski finished first in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:47.62. Andrew Goh had a time of 54.76 in the 100 yard breaststroke to take first. Goh had another first place finish with a time of 2:01.14 in the 200 yard breast. Raul Briceno touched the wall at 9:29.88 to take second in the 1000 yard free.
Staying on the men's side Carter Wood scored a 468.05 in the 1 mtr. Dive to take first place. Matt Blommel competed in the 3 mtr. Dive with a score of 276.05 to take first place to help the Lakers.
The GVSU women's team took home two exceptional wins this afternoon against Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley.

Junior Lucy Hedley led the Lakers in 3 first place events. She touched the wall at 1:48.26 to take first and break a pool record in the 200 yard free. Hedley had a time of 23.55 in the 50 yard free to take first place. Hedley was also a member of the 400 yard free relay that had a time of 3:28.08 to take first place.
The GVSU women's had 4 different athletes place first. Sara Alvarez Fernandez placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.03. Alvarez took first in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:17.18. Kierston Hamron touched the wall at 52.15 to take first place in the 100 yard free. Sophomore Alice Persson had a time of 2:01.22 to take first in the 200 yard backstroke. Alysa Wager took first in the 200 yard fly with a time of 2:40.06
Sadie Huizenga placed second in the 1 mtr. Dive with a score of 400.80. Macy Polasek took first place in the 3 mtr. Dive with a score of 220.80.
The GVSU Swim and Dive teams will head to Rochester Mich., November 2nd to compete in a head to head meet against Oakland University. The meet will be held at Oakland Aquatic Center and will start at 1:00 p.m.
