Women's Golf Readies For East Regional Play

ALLENDALE, MICH. – Starting Monday morning, the GVSU women's golf team will tee off the NCAA East Regional in Springfield, Illinois at the Panther Creek Country Club. The Lakers are the number three seed in the region, which consists of 15 teams and six individuals. The top six teams will advance to the National Tournament held later this month.

The teams will play 54 holes over the three days, 18 each day. The region features two ranked teams, with the region's top team in Findlay is ranked fourth by Golfstat, and Indianapolis is ranked 10th. The Lakers are just outside the top-25, as are UMSL and Tiffin. GVSU will tee off at 9:30 am eastern time tomorrow morning, as they are paired with Findlay and UIndy.

GVSU won three tournaments throughout the 2022-23 season, including their final one of the regular season at the UMSL Spring Invite. Stoll took home three tournament wins this year, winning one in the fall and two this spring. Stoll, Badino, and Miron are all ranked individually by Golfstat, with Stoll coming in at 59th overall, Badino is ranked 95th, and Miron is 149th.
 
This is the 20th consecutive regional that the Lakers have played in, winning seven of those tournaments. They have advanced to the National Tournament in 16 of those years, including the previous six campaigns.
