BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – The Grand Valley State women's golf team earned their first win of the fall season, taking the title at the Bulldog Fall Classic. The Lakers were powered by the top three individual finishers, with
Lea Stotz earning her first collegiate victory.
Results
After carding the best round on the opening day, the Lakers followed that up with the best round of day two, shooting three under par on the day, ending the tournament at seven over par. They finished 20 strokes up on second-place Ferris State, who finished +27. Tiffin was third at +40, followed by Gannon at +46, and Wayne State was fifth, finishing at +49.
Lea Stotz earned her first collegiate victory, leading both rounds, winning by six strokes, with a final score of four under. She carded a final round of 70 (-2), sinking three birdies.
Rachael Krieger was the runner-up, finishing at two over. She had three birdies in her final round of 73 (+1). In third was
June Hsiao, who also shot a 70, making five birdies, ending at three over par. In eighth was
Charlotte Goersch, as she shot a final round of 72 (E), making two birdies to finish at +6.
Heida Rafnsdottir was tied for 13
th at +9. She made five birdies in her final round of 74 (+2).
Skyler Tierney was tied for 27
th at +15, following her round of 74 with two birdies.
Evelyn Park made one birdie in her round of 86 (+14), finishing in a tie for 54
th.
Lorena Saquicoray ended in 66
th at +30.
