Grand Valley State athletics and WXSP-TV Grand Rapids announced an agreement today that will feature three GVSU football games to be televised live to fans across West Michigan during the 2022 regular season.
WXSP will serve as the exclusive live in-market television partner for the Lakers. WXSP is channel 15 over-the-air locally, but the channel could vary depending on cable or satellite systems.
"Nexstar Media is excited to work with Grand Valley State University Athletics, expanding our partnership with the local broadcasts of GVSU football this season on WXSP. Local collegiate sports is an important part of our community and providing this access to viewers throughout West Michigan meets our mission to offer unique, relevant content not available on other broadcast outlets" stated Julie Brinks, Vice President and General Manager of WOOD-TV, WOTV and WXSP – Nexstar Media Inc. in Grand Rapids.
The slate of games on WXSP will kick off next Thursday, Sept. 1
st when the No. 4-ranked Lakers host #3-ranked Colorado School of Mines at Lubbers Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. In addition, WXSP-TV will air the Saturday, Sept. 17
th Family Day contest versus Lincoln (7 pm) and the Saturday, Oct. 22
nd Homecoming tilt versus Northern Michigan (3 pm).

Doug Lipinski. "Having local linear television distribution is a key component of our overall branding strategy. "
For Laker fans outside of the WXSP viewing area or who prefer to watch games on their mobile device or computer,
FloSports is now the exclusive streaming platform for the GLIAC and will broadcast over 900 games annually across 21 league sports.
