CJ Germany Named Grand Valley State Wide Receiver Coach

Grand Valley State head football coach Scott Wooster announced today the appointment of CJ Germany as the wide receiver coach in the Laker football program. Germany was most recently an assistant wide receiver coach at Baylor University.

Germany spent two years at Baylor, including the 2024 campaign when the Bears finished 8-5 and played LSU in the Kinder's Texas Bowl. He was responsible for wide receiver player development, offensive red zone reports and player personnel meetings with the receiving unit.

"We are extremely excited to announce the addition of CJ Germany to coach, develop, and mentor our wide receivers," said Wooster. "He brings a wealth of experience from his stops as a player and as a coach. Because of this, he is experienced beyond his years. Coach Germany's ability to teach scheme, develop our wide receivers fundamentally and technically, as well as mentor them made this the perfect fit for Grand Valley State football. I would also like to thank Coach Reinhart for his work on this hire, and our staff for the time and work they have put in completing our staff," added Wooster.

He spent the 2023 season at Georgia where the Bulldogs finished 13-1 and beat Florida State in the Orange Bowl 63-3. He tutored the likes of Ladd McConkey (LA Chargers) and Arian Smith (NY Jets) while at Georgia. In addition, Germany spent the 2022 season at Nevada and the 2021 campaign at Notre Dame College.

"I am humbled to join the Grand Valley State football program," said Germany. "I want to thank coach Wooster for this opportunity because I understand the history of the program and the expectations that go with being a coach at Grand Valley State. I have a responsibility to be at my best for the players and coaches, and I am excited to get started," added Germany.

Germany was a standout receiver at Notre Dame College where he hauled in 77 career receptions for 1,623 yards and 16 touchdowns during his four-year career. He averaged 21.1 yards per reception in 38 career games.
