ALLENDALE, Mich. – Grand Valley State women's soccer head coach, Katie Hultin, has announced the hiring of Taylor Timko as an assistant coach for the 2022 season. Timko becomes the third member of Hultin's staff, joining Mario Zuniga-Gil and Sam Tracey as assistant coaches of the defending National Champions heading into 2022.

Timko joins the Lakers' staff after spending the 2021 season as the Director of Operations for the University of Michigan women's soccer team, where she assisted in all phases of the program for her alma mater. She was responsible for overseeing team logistics, travel and administrative duties while helping to organize recruiting visits and travel as well as coordinate special events and projects.

"I had the opportunity to coach Taylor and work with her at University of Michigan. Taylor is one of a kind and I am so excited to have her join our staff. Taylor will not only be a huge asset for us on the field, but operationally and on the team building and leadership front," Hultin said.

Timko played for the Wolverines from 2014-2018 and appeared in 71 career games, recording 38 points before graduating with a degree in biology. The Rochester Hills, Mich. native was a three time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a Capital One Academic All-District Five first team honoree, a CoSIDA Academic All-District Five second team member and was named second team All-Big Ten as a defender. She was also the Michigan Athletics' Female Rookie of the Year and earned Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors.

Following graduation, Timko played professionally in Brisbane, Australia before returning to Michigan to coach for her local high school and club team prior to rejoining the Michigan program last season.
