ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's golf team has been selected to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships for the 20th consecutive year, announced the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee on Monday, April 25. The East Regionals will be played in Kansas City, Mo. at the Shoal Creek Golf Course on May 2-4. The top five teams and top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships in Gainsville, Ga. at the Chattahoochee Golf Club on May 10-14.Â
The Lakers earned their spot at the NCAA Championships after winning the GLIAC Tournament title and are seeded third in the NCAA East Regional. The Lakers swept the GLIAC semifinals with a 5-0 win over Saginaw Valley and advanced to the finals winning the conference championship with a 4-1 victory over Northwood. The Laker's will be led by the GLIAC women's golf medalist, Julia Sanchez. Also competing for the Lakers will be Kay Zubkus, Megan Miron, Olivia Stoll, and Paula Badino.Â
