Women's Golf Completes Day Two At Nationals

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. – Through the opening two rounds of play at the NCAA National Championships, the Grand Valley State women's golf team remains in contention to advance to medal match play. After 36 holes, GVSU is eight shots back of the cut line, sitting in 13th.
 
Results
 
Dallas Baptist and Wingate hold the top two spots at +11 and +12, with no other teams within 14 strokes of them. Anderson and Cal State San Marcos tied for third, and St. Mary's ended the day in fifth. Holding the final spot to advance to match play heading into the final round is UT Tyler, who carded +40. GVSU is eight shots back of them in 13th.
 
The top golfer for the Lakers is Lea Stotz, who sits in a tie for 29th after the opening two rounds. She shot a second round of 78 (+6) with three birdies to end at +8. Two shots back of her is Charlotte Goersch in a tie for 42nd at +10. She made three birdies in her round of 76 (+4) today. Evelyn Park sank three birdies across her 75 (+3) to end at +14 in a tie for 59th. Rachael Krieger is tied for 70th at +17 following her round of 80 (+8). Heida Rafnsdottir is one shot back of Krieger in a tie for 76th after shooting a 79 (+7) with one birdie.
 
GVSU will tee off the final round tomorrow morning at 10:12. They are paired with Rogers State and Arkansas Tech.
