GVSU Women claims 7-0 win over Spring Hill College

Improves to 5-2 on the season

Box Score The Grand Valley State women's tennis team defeated Spring Hill College 7-0 Sunday (March 6) in Mobile Alabama. GVSU improves to 5-2 on the season.

GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at all three positions. Marija Leko and Marily Canellopoulos tallied a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Taylor Barrett and Estefania Hernandez claimed a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Sophia Hanover and Vasileia Griva chipped in a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

On the singles side, Marija Leko claimed a straight set 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Taylor Barrett tallied a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles. Vasileia Griva chipped in a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, while Estefania Hernandez claimed a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Olivia Huang earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, while Sophia Hanover claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles. 

The Lakers return to the courts on Tuesday (March 8) for a dual match against West Florida in Pensacola, Florida.
