ALLENDALE, Mich. - Kennedy Metzger has been named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season announced by the league office today (Oct. 3). This is the second consecutive week a Laker has been earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. 
 
Metzger notched a goal and assist in the 5-1 win over Davenport last Saturday. The Ball State transfer has scored three goals and two assists for eight points this season and ranks third on the team in goals and points. The Lakers are in first place in the GLIAC standings at the halfway point of conference play.
 
The Lakers will travel to the U.P to face Michigan Tech Friday (Oct. 7) night at 7:00 PM in Houghton, before traveling to Marquette to take on Northern Michigan on Sunday (Oct. 9) at 1:00 PM.
