ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State Lakers concluded field action in the GVSU Last Chance on Tuesday, marking the final home event before NCAA Division II National Championships at the end of the month.
On the women's side,
Emma Richards (48.97m; discus),
Angelica Floyd (5.80m; long jump) and
Carly Livingston (3.95m; pole vault) led the day with first-place finishes in their respective fields.
Elizabeth Pyles (47.18m) finished second in the discus while Richards (3
rd; 13.80m) and
Erika Lechner (5
th; 13.10m) competed in the shot put.
Kassidie Stimmel (3.65m) and
Rachel Dolan (3.50m) cleared bars in the pole vault for third and fourth place, respectively.
Justin Scavarda (52.43m; 17.33m) and
Myles Kerner (45.42m; 16.91m) competed in the discus throw and shot put, while
Jacob Urban (55.69m) and
Shane Byrne (53.82m) represented the Lakers in the hammer throw. Earning clears in the high jump and pole vault were
Eli Kosiba (2.01m) and
James Nutt (4.55m), respectively.
GVSU travels to Hillsdale, Lee and Toledo this weekend for one final chance at qualifying for Nationals.
