The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell in a tough match to the Florida Southern College Mocs, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon (March 2) in Lakeland, Florida. The Lakers now holds a 4-1 record on the season while the Mocs improve to 2-5. GVSU will be back in action on Monday (March 4) when they play Coe College at San Lando Park in Seminole County, Fla. with first serve at 8:30 a.m.

In doubles, GVSU was unable to find their groove, as they dropped all three matches and Florida Southern captured the first team point.

The Lakers split in singles and capture three points during singles play. Playing out of the No. 1 position was
Sebastien Lescoulie, who won 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, while
Jack Geissler captured another point for the Lakers from No. 2 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win.
Jack Dausman fell at the No. 3 slot by a score of 7-5, 6-1, while
Martin Matov dropped a two-set decision at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6).
DJ Colantone was also defeated by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 2-6, from the No. 5 position. The Lakers scored one more point after
Eric Zwemer won in three sets at the No. 6 singles position by a score of 6-2, 0-6, 7-6 (7-3).
