ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's lacrosse team and head coach Mackenzie Lawler announce the addition of nine players for the 2020 season.  The signing class includes three midfielders, three attackers and three defenders.

"We are very excited about the 2020 recruiting class," said coach Lawler.  "With graduating so many seniors who have large roles on the field after this season, it was important to bring in a bigger class that will be ready to contribute and make an impact right away as freshmen."

Halle Nedohin (Sherwood Park, AB) joins the Lakers' 2020 signing class as an attacker.  Nedohin was a member and captain of Team Alberta during the 2015 and 2019 seasons and helped lead the team to a bronze finish.  Additionally, she qualified for Team Canada tryouts and has spent two years as a Student Council member.

Maddy Champagne (Livonia, Mich.) is coming off a junior season in which she was crowned the 2019 Player of the Year, All-American team member, All-State First-Team member and team MVP.  Champagne holds the Michigan state high school record for most goals scored in a single game with 15.

"The class will help reload our defensive unit, add depth in the midfield, and give us some strong dual threats on offense," said coach Lawler.  "In addition to being very high caliber players, these ladies are involved in their high school extracurriculars, and are very committed to academics.  We look forward to bringing these young women to the Grand Valley community."
