The Grand Valley State men's tennis team improved to 13-7 after they defeated Indiana Wesleyan, 5-0, in a nonconference matchup on Saturday evening. The Lakers will resume GLIAC play tomorrow, Sunday (April 15) against Purdue Northwest for their final regular season matchup.
GVSU started off strong and took a 3-0 lead after they swept the Wildcats in doubles play. Playing from the No. 1 doubles position was
Alex van de Steenoven and
Drew Coleman, as the pair won 8-5, while
Sebastien Lescoulie and
DJ Colantone tallied an 8-1 victory from the No. 2 slot.
Nicholas Urban and
Jack Geissler completed the sweep for GVSU as the duo won 8-3 from the No. 3 pairing.
In singles competition, Urban tallied another point for the Lakers as he won 6-0, 6-1, from No. 4 singles, while
Marcus Muniz Infante won 6-0, 6-2, from the No. 6 singles position to capture the winning point for GVSU.
