The Grand Valley State men's and women's swimming & diving teams claimed GLIAC victories Saturday afternoon at Findlay. The 7th-ranked Laker men claimed a 150-79 victory, while the 8th-ranked women claimed a 139-97 win. Grand Valley State will host Indianapolis in non-conference action next Saturday at 1 p.m.
Women
GVSU won nine events, including a pair of 1-2-3 finishes. The 200 medley relay team of
Meghan Falconer,
Emily Gallagher,
Mercedes Martinez and
Kathryn Culver finished second in a time of 1:50.38. GVSU went 1-2 in the 1000 free as
Sam Postmus touched first (10:48.91) and
Rachel Eaton second (10:54.07).
Melina Goebel won the 200 free (1L57.49), followed by
Megan Shaughnessy in third (2:00.15). Sydney Weaver finished third in the 50 free with a time of 25.58.
Leonie Van Noort hit the wall first in the 200 IM (2:10.40), while Culver was third (2:16.22).
Falconer (2:13.07) and Gallagher (2:13.19) led a 1-2 finish in the 200 fly, while
Jenn Priebe won the 100 free (54.30). The Lakers went 1-2-3 in the 200 back, led by Van Noort who hit the wall first in 2:05.70. Postmus finished second (2:06.08) and Shaughnessy third (2:10.24). Grand Valley State also went 1-2-3 in the 500 free with Goebel hitting the wall first (5:20.16), Eaton second (5:26.15) and
Julia Suriano third (5:29.24).
Celia Hoag finished third in the 200 breast (2:34.21). GVSU swam the 200 free relay in exhibition only as Gallagher, Culver, Falconer and Van Noort hit the wall first in 1:38.87.
Kayla Marquardt won both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards with scores of 218.24 and 194.47.
Mikayla Karasek was third on the 1-meter (175.19) and second on the 3-meter (192.08).
Men
GVSU won 10 events and went 1-2-3 in six and 1-2 in four others. The Lakers competed in exhibition only for the final three events. GVSU opened with a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 medley relay. The relay team of

Liam Little hit the wall first (1:35.59), followed by
Harry Shalamon,

JD Ham in second (1:36.83).
Tabor Smyth, Garret McCormic, Gonzalo Rodriguez and
David Nunez hit the wall third (1:40.21). Jonathan Loshinskie finished first in the 1000 free (10:15.90), followed by
Zach Reau in second (10:19.06). The Lakers delivered another 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free led by Abbott in first (1:45.60).
Grant Borregard hit the wall second (1:46.02) and
Michael Hudson third (1:47.08).
Ham hit the wall first in the 50 free (21.83), followed by Shalamon in second (22.00) and Little in third (22.08). Souza finished first in the 200 IM (1:59.08) and Nabih second (2:00.44). Shalamon touched first in the 200 fly (1:58.67), followed by Rodriquez in second (1:59.83) and Mikalauskas in third (2:01.49). Ham added a first in the 100 free (48.34), followed by Little in second (48.59).
Walling picked up a first-place finish in the 200 back (1:55.72), followed by Hudson (1:56.40) and
James Zetka in third (1:59.99). GVSU closed with a 1-2 finish in the 500 free as Borregard was first (4:49.91) and Loshinskie second (4:56.93).
Jared Gregory led a 1-2-3 finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 233.48.
Joe Gucwa was second (219.23) and
Alex Miller third (190.35).
