• Grand Valley State is in its 45th season of football and sport a 361-134-3 all-time record. GVSU's .730 winning percentage tops all Division II schools and is third all-time in all divisions behind Notre Dame (.733) and Michigan (.731).
• Grand Valley State has the second longest streak for consecutive games without being shutout at 280 games. The Lakers were last shutout by Ferris State (23-0) in 1992. Valdosta State's 283 games without being shutout is the longest streak.Â
• Anchor-Bone Trophy - The Anchor Bone Trophy is awarded annually to the winner of the Grand Valley State-Ferris State football game. The trophy debuted in 2002 and was awarded to Ferris State following the death of a player the week of the game. GVSU claimed possession of the trophy from 2003 until 2012 when Ferris State defeated the Lakers for the first time since 1999. Â
• Tonights game will mark the fifth time that both Grand Valley State and Ferris State are ranked at the actual time of the game. Ferris State enters the game ranked #5 in the latest AFCA Coaches' Poll, while GVSU moved up to #14 after the 27-24 win at #7 Ohio Dominican. This is the third time that both teams are ranked in the top 15 at the time of the meeting and the first since 1995.Â
• Grand Valley State will be playing a nationally-ranked, top-10 opponent on back-to-back weeks during the regular season for the second time in school history. The Lakers played at #7 Ohio Dominican last week and will host #5  Ferris State Saturday. Top-ranked Grand Valley State defeated #4 Saginaw Valley State (31-10) and #5 Northwood (30-14) on consecutive weeks in 2005.Â
