Prior to GVSU: Spent one season at Grand Rapids Community College.

High School: Prepped at Ypsilanti High School...Named honorable mention Division 3-4 All-State by both the Associated Press and Detroit News after collecting 98 tackles, 11 sacks, four interceptions and three forced fumbles on the season...Also had 12 catches for 303 yards and seven touchdowns...Named all-conference and all-area as both a junior and senior.
