NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Grand Valley State men's tennis wrapped up their regular season with a 7-2 victory over Walsh, clinching the second-seed in the 2015 GLIAC Tournament. With the win, the Lakers improve to 15-4 overall and 7-1 in the conference, while Walsh ends their regular season with a 10-14 overall record and a 2-7 mark against GLIAC opponents.
GVSU swept the doubles side of today's match, not giving up more than four points in any of the three matches. The biggest doubles win of the match came from the No. 3 pairing of

Andrew Bole, beating their opponent by the score of 8-1. Both

Alex van de Steenoven won their matches from the No. 1 and No. 2 positions by the score of 8-4.
The Laker men won four of the six singles matches. Bertrand in the No. 1 (7-5, 2-6, 6-2), Phillips in the No. 2 (6-3, 7-6 [4-1]), Hodges in the No. 5 (6-2, 6-0), and Bole in the No. 6 (6-3, 4-6, 6-1) all earned wins for GVSU on the day.
Grand Valley State now sets their sights on winning the program's first GLIAC Tournament title. Hosted by the Midland Community Tennis Center, the first match of the GLIAC Tournament is scheduled for April 24, where seeds three through six will play each other for the right to face the first and second seeds. GVSU will face either third-seeded Northwood (12-4, 7-3 GLIAC) or sixthseeded Findlay (9-8, 4-5 GLIAC) on Saturday, April 25.
