HOUGHTON, Mich. - Grand Valley State men's tennis continued their winning ways on Sunday, winning their fifth straight match and fourth consecutive GLIAC contest in an 8-1 decision over Michigan Tech. The Lakers improved their record to 11-4 overall, while the loss drops Michigan Tech to 1-11 overall and 0-6 in conference action.

Alex van de Steenoven fell in doubles action, losing 8-5 in a close decision.
In singles action, Grand Valley State won all but one of their matches in straight sets. Only Phillips in the No. 2 spot needed a third set (6-1, 1-6, 7-5).
Andrew Bole won his match by the greatest margin, taking the No. 6 match 6-0, 6-1.
GVSU is off for the week before hosting their final two matches of the season. On Saturday (Apr. 11), the Lakers host Wayne State before welcoming Northwood on Sunday (Apr. 12). Both matches are scheduled for a noon start, and both will be held at the Ramblewood Tennis & Health Club in Grandville.
