Prior to GVSU: Attended Parkland College for two seasons...Went 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA in 16 appearances in 2010...Tallied four saves and 19 strikeouts in 15 innings pitched...Helped team to a 50-win season and a regional championship...Finished fifth at the junior college world series.

High School: Prepped at Thornton Fractional South (Ill.) under head coach Matt Tiffy...As a senior, he went 8-1 with a 2.50 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 60 innings...Named all-conference, all-area and conference player of the year.

Personal: Son of David and Lori Zegarac...Brother Shane was drafted in the 2009 MLB Amateur Draft by the Texas Rangers.
