BOULDER CITY, NEV. – Day two concluded at the Division II men's golf national championships, with the Laker men staying in contention. GVSU is in 11^th, seven shots back of the eighth spot needed to advance.

Florida Southern has taken over the team lead with a score of -18. One shot back of them is UMSL, followed by Columbus State at -12. Lee and West Florida are tied for fourth, both ending at nine under par. The next three spots belong to CSU San Bernadino (-7), Wingate (-6), and Georgia Southwestern (-4). The top eight teams will advance to Thursday's medal match play quarterfinals.
 
Manuel Cue Vargas is the top golfer for GVSU, ending the day in 14^th place at four under par. The senior shot a 71 (-1) today with four birdies and an eagle. Bryce Wheeler rose nine spots into a tie for 39^th at even par following his round of 71 (-1) with four birdies. Andrew Gwilliams had the best day for the Lakers, carding a 69 (-3) with three birdies to climb to a tie for 65^th at +3. Ryan Gallagher and Charlie Cooley are both tied at +9 in 90^th. Cooley shot a 79 (+7) with four birdies and Gallagher shot an 80 (+8).
