The Lakers advanced to Sunday with a 16-6 victory over Davenport in the semifinals. GVSU scored seven goals in the first period and six more in the third to capture the win. Ella Boose led the way with four goals, with Leah Leonard adding a hat trick. Sarah Krause made eight saves and caused four turnovers in the cage. Both regular season matchups between the Lakers and Wildcats were close, low-scoring affairs. In the first game played in Allendale, GVSU won 9-4. Boose tallied six scores in the game, while Krause made eight saves. Up in Marquette, GVSU used a fourth quarter comeback to steal a 9-8 win. Boose scored four times and Eliana LaMange had two, including the game-winner with less than three minutes to play. Krause made 12 more saves to seal the win.

Northern Michigan took care of Concordia-St. Paul on Friday to punch their ticket to Sunday's matchup. After being tied at four a couple minutes into the third quarter, NMU rallied to outscore CSP 11-3 the rest of the way. Josie Lakosky scored five times, bringing the nation's leading scorer over 100 goals on the season. The Wildcats are looking to capture their first ever GLIAC Tournament title, along with their first ever victory over GVSU.
