Lakers Close Regular Season Against Purdue Northwest

ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State softball team wraps up the regular season this weekend with a road and home doubleheader against Purdue Northwest. The Lakers will travel to Hammond, Indiana on Friday, May 1st at 2:00 PM ET before returning home for senior day on Saturday, May 2nd at 2:30 PM. 
 
GVSU enters the final weekend of the regular season in third place in the GLIAC standings with a 15-9 conference mark. The Lakers split a doubleheader at Saginaw Valley State before sweeping Wayne State on the road last weekend. GVSU ranks second in the conference hitting .310 as a team while tossing a 2.92 team ERA. Freshman Camryn Hall ranks third in the conference hitting .432 with a conference leading 64 hits. Sophomore Grace Usher is hitting .340 on the season with 51 hits and is tied for the team lead with three home runs. Senior Eliana Eiland has notched a .321 average with seven stolen bases, six doubles, and three triples. Sophomore pitcher Karli Dorr ranks second in the GLIAC with a 2.04 ERA and has posted an 11-4 record in the circle. Dorr is fourth in the conference striking out 103 batters on the season.
 
Purdue Northwest heads into the final weekend of the regular season with a 25-21 overall record and 11-11 GLIAC mark. The Pride will close the regular season with a doubleheader at Ferris State on Sunday, May 3rd after the two doubleheaders against GVSU. Purdue Northwest leads the GLIAC with a .321 team batting average and are fifth posting a 4.11 team ERA. The Pride swept Wayne State before falling in both games to Saginaw Valley State last weekend. 
 
Gracie Jensen ranks fourth in the GLIAC with a .404 batting average. Jensen leads Purdue Northwest with 57 hits, 39 RBI, and 11 doubles. Kylie Madura is hitting .367 on the season with 47 hits, nine doubles, and a team leading eight home runs. Amanda DeBoer has notched a .336 average with 28 RBI and 30 runs scored. Hailie Charmat has posted a 3.15 ERA with a 7-9 record in the circle. Charmat leads the Pride with 74 strikeouts on the season. Abbey Bond has a 4.01 ERA in 19 appearances on the season. Bond has recorded a 7-5 record with 35 strikeouts on the year.
