ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State softball team is back on the road for a pair of GLIAC doubleheaders this weekend. The Lakers will travel to Saginaw Valley State on Saturday, April 25
th at 1:00 PM and Wayne State on Sunday, April 26
th at 12:00 PM.

GVSU swept the GLIAC player and pitcher of the week honors. Sophomore pitcher
Karli Dorr was named the GLIAC pitcher of the week. Dorr became the 12
th Laker in program history to throw a no-hitter in the 6-0 shutout win in game one against Parkside last week. Dorr struck out seven batters and notched her first collegiate no-hitter. Dorr also threw seven innings allowing no earned runs with 10 strikeouts against Roosevelt. On the season, Dorr ranks second in the GLIAC with 99 strikeouts and is fourth with a 2.09 ERA in 16 appearances in the circle. Freshman
Camryn Hall was named the GLIAC player of the week for the first time in her collegiate career. Hall batted 8-12 (.667) over the two doubleheaders against Roosevelt and Parkside. Hall batted a perfect 3-3 with a season high four runs scored and two RBI in the 11-3 game two win vs Roosevelt. She recorded two hits in both games against Parkside, scoring two runs in the 6-0 win in game one. On the season, Hall leads the GLIAC batting .453 with 60 hits.
GVSU is 22-20 overall this season and 12-8 in the GLIAC. The Lakers are second in the GLIAC hitting .316 as a team and second in the conference with a 2.87 team ERA. GVSU took three out of the four home games last weekend. The Lakers split a doubleheader with Roosevelt before sweeping Parkside with two shutout wins. GVSU swept Wayne State at home in the first doubleheader of the season against the Warriors. The Lakers dropped both games at home to Saginaw Valley State.
Saginaw Valley State is 28-12 on the season and in first place with a 17-3 conference mark. The Cardinals split a home doubleheader with Ferris State on Tuesday. This season, SVSU is hitting .304 as a team and lead the GLIAC with a 2.33 ERA. Aalana Kimble leads SVSU with a .433 batting average and has posted a 1.79 ERA in the circle. Macy Irelan has notched a 1.91 ERA this season which ranks second best in the GLIAC. Emma Helvie is hitting .363 while Ella Reifschneider is batting .380 this season.
Wayne State enters the weekend with a 16-25 overall record and 8-12 conference record. The Warriors are hitting .287 as a team led by Elly Koopman who is hitting .381 on the season with a team leading 20 RBI and 11 doubles. Hunter Near has notched a .305 average with six triples and three home runs. In the circle, the Warriors staff has posted a 4.61 ERA. Sydney Long has made 19 appearances this season posting a 3.44 ERA with 73 strikeouts.
