ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team begins postseason play Thursday with the opening round of the GLIAC Tournament. The two-day event will take place at Stoatin Brae Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan.

Nine teams will compete in the GLIAC Championships. The tournament will feature three rounds of stroke play, two on Thursday morning, with the final round being played Friday morning. Following those 56 holes, the top two teams in the standings will compete in a medal match play tournament over 18 holes to determine the league champion.
The Lakers are the top-ranked team in the field, entering ranked third in the country. No other GLIAC teams are ranked in the top 25. Playing this week for GVSU are
Bryce Wheeler,
Manuel Cue Vargas,
Andrew Gwilliams,
Charlie Cooley, and
Ryan Gallagher. Wheeler (#23), Cue (#24), and Gwilliams (#25), and Cooley (#46) are all nationally ranked inside the top 50, while Gallagher is just outside of it at #120. GVSU has won five tournaments this season, claiming two additional runner-up endings.
The Lakers are looking for their 10th GLIAC title in program history and first since 2022.
