Signing Day Video Recap

Grand Valley State football signing day culminated with the Lakers' signing a class of 36 Wednesday and it is being widely recognized as one of the top NCAA Division II classes in the county.  In addition, GVSU added 11 mid-year players that is being tabbed as one of the top transfer classes in the country. Fourth-year head coach Scott Wooster was overjoyed with the additions to the program.

"We were able to get exactly what we wanted in all facets of the recruiting process in terms of high school players and transfers," said Wooster.  "We identified and signed an elite high school class that received a lot of interest from Division I schools. The Division I transfer portal has allowed us to get in on kids that previously would have signed at Division I programs, and we hit a home run with our 2026 class. This group is made up kids that have incredible talent, were the top kids in their respective areas, put up incredible statistics and received state-wide accolades, but they also come from teams that won at a high level," added Wooster.

Wooster also commented on the mid-year transfers. "We also signed and elite class of transfers that will fill specific roles in our program. This group will make an impact in all facets of the game offensively, defensively and on special team. We identified what we wanted and were able to secure an extremely talented group."

GVSU was able to sign 30 high school players that earned either all-state recognition or area dream team plaudits. Games are won on the offensive and defensive lines and the Lakers signed a combined 14 from those two position groups (7 Oline/7Dline).

Grand Valley State is currently in the midst of off season conditioning and development that will lead to the start of spring practice in March.
