The Lakers started the 2026 season at the Lewis Dome Tournament last weekend where they went 3-2. GVSU defeated Missouri S&T 4-1in the season opener. The Lakers would fall in back-to-back games against Concordia – St. Paul and St. Cloud State before winning their last two games defeating Truman State 12-1 in five innings and Winona State 3-1.
Eliana Eiland batted .563 with nine hits, three runs scored, and two runs batted in.
Madelynn Pope notched nine hits with two doubles, five runs scored, and two RBI's, while
Grace Usher led the Lakers with four runs batted in and two doubles. Pitcher
Karli Dorr went 2-0 in the circle posting a 1.17 ERA with eight strikeouts.
Nevaeh Ingram picked up the win against Winona State after tossing all seven innings allowing one run with three strikeouts.
