Grand Valley State went 1-1 on the final day at the 2026 NWCA National Duals, defeating #8 McKendree 23-19, and falling to Minnesota State 20-18. The Lakers will next be in action at #3-ranked Central Oklahoma Friday, January 16. 

GVSU trailed #8 McKendree for much of the opening dual Saturday, but Bradley Mayse (184) claimed a 16-1 tech fall win to give the Laker an 18-15 lead. Heavyweight Carter Blough entered his heavyweight match with the Lakers trailing 19-18, but he tallied a 17-0 tech fall win to help GVSU secure a 23-19 win. The Lakers and Mavericks split the 10 matches in the final dual, but Minnesota State used bonus points to pick up the win.
