GVSU Baseball Lands Four On CSC All-District Team

Dentler, Gill, Morrison and VanEnkevort earn academic honors

The Grand Valley State baseball program landed four on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team it was announced. Senior pitcher Jayden Dentler, junior first baseman Jovan Gill, junior shortstop Evan Morrison and junior second baseman Ayden VanEnkevort earned first-team honors. All four will move on to the national ballot.

Denter finished the 2025 campaign with a 12-0 mark and a 2.73 earned run average in 14 starts on the hill. His 12 wins ranked second in the country and tied the GVSU program record for wins in a single-season. Dentler logged 89.0 innings pitched with three complete games and 69 strikeouts. He tallied 12 starts with 6.0 IP or more, 11 outings yielding three runs or less, including 10 with two earned runs or less and six appearances with six strikeouts or more. Dentler concluded his collegiate career with a 36-9 career mark. 
 
Morrison started all 57 games at shortstop, hitting .341 with 76 hits, 17 doubles, three home runs, three triples and 43 RBI. Morrison led the GLIAC in runs scored and set the GVSU single-season record with 73. He tallied 22 multi-hit games, 14 multi-RBI games, recorded a 19-game hitting streak and reached base in 56-of-57 games played. In addition, he walked 36 times and was 17-for-24 in stolen bases.

Gill started 50 games for the Lakers, hitting .317 with 59 hits, 45 runs scored, 11 home runs, 11 doubles, two triples and tied for the GLIAC lead in RBIs with 62. He tallied 16 multi-hit games and 16 multi-RBI games for the Lakers, while ending the season with a 16-game reached base streak. 

VanEnkevort started 54 games at second base and center field, hitting .328 with 59 hits, 43 runs and 35 RBIs. In addition, he stole 13 bases and tallied 20 multi-hit games. 

GVSU finished the 2025 campaign with a 43-14 record under the direction of second-year head coach Jordan Keur. The Lakers hosted an NCAA DII Regional Tournament for the first time since 2006.
