Erika Beistle and Maggie Stevenson began the day with women's discus at 2 p.m. MT. Both women made their presence known through their six attempts. Beistle, the reigning National Champion in women's discus, earned another title to add to her collection. The senior started hot, leaping into first place on her second attempt of 53.08 (174-2). She continued to dominate, especially on her third and fourth attempts. Beistle shattered the previous meet record of 60.26m (197-8) on her third attempt – but that was not enough for her. On her fourth attempt, she threw for 65.05m (213-5). The mark not only set the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships record, but went down in history as the best throw on Colorado soil.

Stevenson shined in the circle, throwing for more than 160m on three attempts. Her fifth throw was not only enough to boost the senior into second place, but also set a new personal-best. In her final event as a Laker, Stevenson was named National Runner-Up with a personal-best throw of 55.64m (182-6).

Neither James Mackey Jr. nor Nathan Spitzley advanced to the finals round in men's discus.

Running events began in the late afternoon for the Lakers, starting with the women's and men's 800m. To advance from the preliminaries to the finals, women would need to record a time of 2:08.21 or less, and the men had to finish at a time of 1:49.45 or less. Unfortunately, the times of Lilly Alberts, Megan Postma, Sam Allen and Scott Spaanstra did not advance them to tomorrow's finals.

The next athlete to take the track was senior Brooke Barkocy. Though the senior did not advance to the 100m hurdles finals, she shattered her personal-best time of two years with a finish at 13.67.

Maria Mitchell started the steeplechase for GVSU and finished at 11:03.97. Owen Westerkamp followed Mitchell in the men's section and did so with a podium finish. The redshirt-freshman finished fourth at a time of 9:02.19.

The women kicked off the 4x400m relay events. Catherine Guckenberger, Claire Neumann, Addison Washler and Alaina Diaz finished at a personal-best time of 3:37.24. The finish ranks the quad second in school history, but did not qualify them for the finals round of the event.

The men's team of Zach Pray, Dominik Balenda, Trannon Aylor and Myles Rhodes followed the ladies and recorded another record – a program record. The squad finished at a time of 3:06.63 to qualify for the finals event, slated for tomorrow at 9:05 p.m.

The final day of championships begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. as freshman Brooke Bowers competes in women's pole vault. At 1:15 p.m., Erika Beistle takes the circle yet again as she competes alongside senior Mackenzie Bohrer in shot put.

Another break ensues for Grand Valley State until 4:45 p.m. when Jaivon Harrison and Jonathan Rankins-James showcase their skills in men's high jump.

The men's 4x100m relay squad will compete at 5:20 p.m. After shattering their own program record with a qualifying time of 39.56, Zach Pray, Jacody Sikora, Nick Walper and Myles Rhodes will fight for a podium spot in the event.

Shortly after the relay, Klaudia O'Malley will race for the second time this week after qualifying for the 1500m finals on Thursday evening. The event is slated for 5:35 p.m.

Myles Rhodes will take centerstage once again as he goes solo in the men's 400m at 6:30 p.m.

O'Malley will close out her collegiate career in the women's 5000m at 8:05 p.m., this time alongside senior Natalie Graber. Koby Fraaza will follow shortly after at 8:30 p.m.

Only the men's 4x400m relay team of Pray, Balenda, Aylor and Rhodes will compete tomorrow. They will compete for another spot on the podium at 9:05 p.m.
