ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State softball team resumes GLIAC play this weekend with a pair of doubleheaders. The Lakers will travel to Detroit, Michigan to face Wayne State on Friday, April 4
th at 2:00 PM and will host Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, April 6
th at 1:00 PM at the GVSU Softball Field.
Sunday's doubleheader against Saginaw Valley State was originally scheduled to be played on the road, but due to Saginaw Valley State's field being unplayable, the doubleheader has been moved to GVSU. SVSU will still be the home team for both games.

GVSU enters the weekend with a 15-17 overall record and 6-4 GLIAC mark. The Lakers dropped both games of a doubleheader at Ferris State earlier this week. GVSU is hitting .285 as a team and are out scoring their opponents 142-128.
Freshman
Madelynn Pope leads GVSU with a .366 batting average with seven triples, five doubles, 18 runs scored, and 17 runs batted in. Sophomore
Faith Edwards is hitting .326 with a team leading 22 runs scored and .450 on-base percentage. Edwards also leads GVSU with 10 stolen bases. Junior
Elizabeth Wesoloski has notched a .324 average with a team leading 34 hits and 21 runs batted in.
The Laker pitching staff has tossed a 3.09 team ERA which ranks second in the GLIAC. Freshman
Karli Dorr is third in the GLIAC with a 2.55 ERA in 14 appearances. Dorr leads GVSU with 81 strikeouts on the season and has tossed nine complete games. Junior
Nevaeh Ingram has tossed a 2.81 ERA in 15 appearances. Ingram has struck out 64 batters this season with 11 complete games.
