Jerry Baltes, Lauren Kiley Awarded 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country Midwest Region Honors

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has presented three 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country Regional Awards to Grand Valley State following the conclusion of the regular season. Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Lauren Kiley was named Women's Athlete of the Year and Jerry Baltes received Men's and Women's Coach of the Year honors.
 
Kiley won the honor for the second consecutive season after winning back-to-back NCAA DII Midwest Region and GLIAC individual champion titles. The Canton, Michigan native also finished tenth at the Spartan Invitational and 15th at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational, crossing the finish line before several Power-4 opponents.
 
In his 27th year as head coach, Baltes swept NCAA DII Midwest Region Championship titles for the 23rd consecutive season. The men's team tallied 44 points in Kenosha, Wisconsin just two weeks after winning the team title at the GLIAC Championships with 17. The women's team won their 24th regional title with 25 points and the conference championship title with a perfect 15.
